About Pamela Szalay
Founder of Imagine &

Pamela Szalay is a consultant, facilitator, curriculum designer, coach, writer, and trainer who love to help people reach their creative potential. She brings energy and enthusiasm to every session!
Pamela is well-versed in the world of creativity from two sides: theory and practice. She holds a Master of Science degree in Creativity and Change Leadership from SUNY Buffalo State and is certified to deliver FourSight: The Breakthrough Thinking Profile. From this standpoint, creativity is about bringing change and overcoming obstacles to achieve great things. It is also about knowing your strengths, what gets in the way and what boosts your creativity.
Pamela can relate to this from her own personal experience as an entrepreneur but also as a pianist, singer and composer. The study of creativity has allowed her to be more in control of her creative process, while also providing insight on the many ways people are creative in their everyday lives. Prior to founding Imagine &, Pamela operated a music school, Imagine and Play Music, where she developed her philosophy of education and applied creativity.
Over the past decade, Pamela has taken her experience from music, education and the field of creativity to deveop unique programs for all kinds of people. She has helped teams from international manufacturing companies, small not-for-profits, universities, schools, and local firms. Everyone can benefit from learning more about themselves, how to appreciate and work better with others, and how to be a better problem solver. She has designed programs for youth and adults, and works hard to make the programs for adults as much fun as the ones for kids!
Notable projects include co-authoring an article on Creative Problem Solving for the Encyclopedia of the Possible, contributing to "The Creative Thinker's Toolbox", a DVD lecture series for The Great Courses, and delivering a three-day creativity training program to educators in China. She has designed curriculum for Explore and More Children's Museum, Curiosity 2 Create, and the Buffalo Healthcare Exploration Summer Program for high school students at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. A keen interest in mental health and well-being led her to lead a research study seeking correlations between Foursight: the Breakthrough Thinking Profile and certain measures of mental health. The findings were published in the International Journal of Creative Problem Solving.
